Director of Strategic Initiatives
Lawrence Public Schools
Leldamy has worked in a variety of vital roles for Lawrence Public Schools over the last 13 years. Ten of those of years - in the district’s Office of Assessment and Accountability and its Facilities and Plant Management Department. That was followed by three years doing of the district’s most challenging work: helping students who have fallen through the cracks get across the graduation stage. Her considerable efforts - finding students, identifying the obstacles between them and a diploma, and connecting them to proper support services - have been a key driver of LPS’s success in this area. LPS’s graduation rate has jumped by 19.5 percentage points (52.3% to 71.4%) while the dropout has been cut nearly in half (8.6% to 4.2%).
Also while at LPS, Leldamy attained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Education, and recently completed a year-long leadership development program through the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College. In her new role as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Lawrence Public Schools and a key member of the Superintendent’s cabinet, while continuing to support student re-engagement efforts, Leldamy will continue to support the district’s turnaround efforts in several other crucial areas, including the planning and implementation of the College and Career Pathways at the Lawrence High school Campus.
