Clare Morrison

Anchorage School District

Expert: Clare Morrison

Clare Morrison returns to the classroom as a Kindergarten teacher, after spending three years in adult education and administration for the Anchorage School District. In that role, she helped spearhead the district’s Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) initiative, designing curriculum and university-level content that promoted SEL goals to teachers and which was aligned with the Common Core and Danielson framework.

With more than ten years experience teaching primary learners (K – 3rd), Morrison was named a Golden Apple award-winning teacher by the Anchorage chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma society, in part thanks to her leadership in creating a school-wide proactive behavior support program. In addition to teaching and mentoring others in Anchorage, Morrison has taught in Japan and Spain, and holds a Master's in Education Curriculum and Design from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
