Our first question comes from Melissa W. from Kentucky, who asks: I would like to hear your experts’ opinions on homework vs no homework for kids at the elementary level. Some of the teachers at my child's school have implemented a no homework policy (except for an occasional project). I am uncomfortable with not practicing writing skills and math skills. What do the experts say?
When dealing with homework questions, you must first consider the appropriate reasons homework should be given. If a child is already at a mastery level on a certain subject, extra drill homework can lead to negativity about school.
