Jamal Grant is Boston native. He attended John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jamal currently works as an Aerospace Systems Engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and is the Founder & Director of the Boston-based 501(c)(3), The NET Mentoring Group, which is a mentoring organization focused on closing the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) achievement and opportunity gap, as well as getting students interested in social justice. Outside of his non-profit and engineering work, Jamal participates in international human & civil rights fellowships and sits on the boards of several community groups centered around improving education outcomes in the Boston area.
