  • Stand for Children

    Stand for Children is an educational advocacy group that works to empower parents and community members. In an effort to educate parents about the new Common Core State Standards, they created a website that explains the purpose of the Core and details its implementation state by state.

  • National Education Association

    The NEA is the nation’s largest professional employee organization with over 3 million members working at all levels of education. They have compiled a list of resources for parents, including printable brochures.

  • Council of the Great City Schools

    The Council of the Great City Schools has developed resources geared to helping parents learn about the Common Core State Standards. They created Parent Roadmaps for both math and English Language Arts written in English and Spanish.

  • National Parent-Teacher Association

    The PTA is a nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education.     Supporting your children’s education is an important task for any parent, but it can be difficult to find resources that align with and extend the lessons they’re learning in school.   • White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics

    The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics is dedicated to getting students college and career ready for the jobs of the 21st-century and to guarantee they can compete globally, restoring the United States to being first in the world in terms of proportion of college graduates. The Initiative developed the ¡Gradúate! Financial Aid Guide to Success to help Hispanic students and families navigate the college application process, and to provide them with information about key financial aid resources available.


  • Every Day is a Reading and Writing Day

    This new digital destination for literacy features interactive Sesame Street games, charming videos, fun activities, and helpful tips aimed to encourage children and the adults in their lives to read and write together, starting from an early age.


  • uAspire

    uAspire is committed to ensuring that families and students have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to – and through – a college degree. Their website contains tips on how to overcome financial barriers and succeed in college. 


  • State Test Guide for Parents

    Be A Learning Hero and GreatSchools have created this simple tool to understand your child’s state test scores and learn how you can support them at home.

Resources for All Grades

Khan Academy

Online library of web videos containing over 2,700 video tutorials in math, science, economics, etc. Includes practice problems for students to hone their skills. Appropriate for all ages and grades.

IXL Learning

Comprehensive list of math skills and topics that students need to master at every grade level. Includes interactive practice problems with explanations if the problem is solved incorrectly. Targeted towards students from pre-kindergarten through high school geometry.

Wolfram-Alpha

Wolfram-Alpha is a computational search engine. WA can solve algebraic equations, graph, simplify expressions and in many cases show the steps to a solution. Appropriate for all ages and grades.

That's Math!

A website full of free parent interactions to help you support your child in math. Includes easy activities for toddlers to 5th grade students.

Math Playground

Interactive word problems, games, and logic puzzles aligned to what your child is learning in math. Recommended for elementary school students.

AAA Math

This site provides brief lessons on a variety of math concepts and then includes a quiz at the bottom of each page. Quizzes are randomly generated for an infinite amount of practice. Perfect for elementary and middle school students.

Free video lessons for students, all in organized YouTube-style videos, for both English and math. Ideal for upper elementary and middle school students.
