Alexander Knoll, 12, is hoping to change the way that people with disabilities get around public spaces by creating his “Ability App.” When Knoll was just 10, he was inspired to after seeing a man in a wheelchair struggle to open a door. He wondered if there was a website, or app, for people to find accessible establishments. When he didn’t find one, he was inspired to build his own. The Ability App will work as a search engine for public spaces, noting which have low tables, wheel chair ramps, disabled parking, braille menus and more. Way to go, Alexander!
