When college freshman, Connor Cox, received what he thought was just another care package from his mom he had a rude awakening. Cox was looking forward to the usual: "Gushers, Pringles, chips, and some protein bars," he told TODAY Parents. But what was inside was pure mom brilliance! His mother, Terri Cox, decided to send him all of the trash he left on his bedroom floor from his time at home during the holiday break to teach him a lesson. "Thoughts raced through my mind as to how I could get the idea across that I was not a maid," she told Today Parents. "I needed Connor to be responsible for his own trash, and I in no way was willing to haul out his trash. We had agreed his room would be left in the state it was when he arrived home. Connor needed to get the message that his trash is his and he was going to need to dispose of it no matter the cost."
Connor soon realized that there weren’t any snacks inside of the box and took to Twitter. He posted a picture of his “care package” to his timeline and wrote, "Thought my mom was sending me a care package... but instead she sent me a box of trash I was supposed to take out." Before he knew it the image went viral!

This has to be one of the most clever teachable moments to date. Point proven, Mrs. Cox!
