Iliana Reyes, Ph.D. (UC Berkeley), is a research scientist at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV), in Mexico City, and is associated with the University of Arizona in Tucson.

She is a co-principal investigator of CREATE (Communities as Resources in Early Childhood Teacher Education), a partnership between local and federal funded early childhood education programs to support community literacy experiences for families. In addition, she is the Director of the LiBRO office, and the Community Literacy Canastas project in Puebla, México. She is passionate about her research on key issues in early childhood, literacy development, bilingualism, socialization practices in immigrant families, and the Reggio Emilia early childhood approach. Her research has been supported by grants from the Foundation for Child Development, HELIOS Foundation, and UC-MEXUS-CONACYT. She is the author of over 60 publications, is an international speaker, and conducts research and professional development in US, Mexico and abroad.
