Elizabeth Parks Prout, MD, MSCE is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and is board certified in obesity medicine.
She graduated from the Tufts School of Medicine in Boston Massachusetts and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Tufts University. She completed a Nutrition Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Parks Prout researches health disparities with a primary interest in the psychosocial determinants of childhood obesity and the prevention of related co-morbidities. She is primary investigator of the Too Blessed to Be Stressed study, where she is looking at the influence of stress in adolescents and is also a co-investigator on several longitudinal studies that examine biological predictors for obesity and the effect of weight-loss in adolescents on bone composition.
