Adrienne Kelly-Lumpkin is Chief Operating Officer of Communities in Schools of Wake County, an education non-profit organization whose mission is to “surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life”. CIS Wake supports K-12 students through academic case management and academic enrichment in Wake County (NC) schools and through after-school, weekend and summer programs.
Ms. Kelly-Lumpkin is also co-founder of a telecommunications company serving the small business market predominantly in the Southeast USA. She is the parent of four children, a public school advocate and volunteer. She has raised three daughters who graduated from Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, NC, and currently has one son in high school. Over the past 20 years, Kelly-Lumpkin has served as president of a high school PTA, on School Improvement Committees, as a school parent representative to the School Board, and as Chair of her district's Board Advisory Committee. She currently serves on the Education Committee of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, helping to bring artists to over 150 schools, K-12 each year. She is a member of Public Schools First NC and WakeUp Wake County’s Great Schools in Wake coalition and has been an outspoken parent and citizen for diversity, equity, and fairness for students and teachers in public schools.
